Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus 128GB+8GB RAM
The new Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus is a stunning phone. It’s big, it’s beautiful, and it’s packed full of features. The camera is incredible, the battery life is excellent, and the overall performance is outstanding. There’s very little not to like about this phone.
The only potential downside is the price tag. At $999, the Galaxy S10 Plus is one of the most expensive phones on the market. But if you’re looking for the best of the best, and you’re willing to pay for it, the Galaxy S10 Plus is definitely worth your consideration.
Apple iPhone XS Max 64GB
Apple iPhone XS Max 64GB
The iPhone XS Max is the largest and most expensive iPhone that Apple has ever made. It has a 6.5-inch OLED display, which is the biggest screen that Apple has ever put on an iPhone. It’s also packing a lot of power under the hood, with a new A12 Bionic chip and 4GB of RAM. The camera has been upgraded as well, with a new 12MP sensor and improved True Tone flash. And like the smaller iPhone XS, it’s water-resistant and comes in a new Gold color option.
All that makes the iPhone XS Max sound like the perfect iPhone. But it’s not perfect. The display isn’t quite as good as the one on the Samsung Galaxy Note 9, and the battery life isn’t as good as we wanted it to be. Plus, at $1,099 for the 64GB model (and $1,249 for the 256GB model), it’s very expensive.
But if you’re looking for the biggest and best iPhone that money can buy, the iPhone XS Max is the one to get.
Display
The iPhone XS Max has a 6.5-inch OLED display, which is the biggest screen that Apple has ever put on an iPhone. It has a resolution of 2688 x 1242, which works out to a pixel density of 458 ppi. That’s slightly lower than the 521 ppi pixel density of the Samsung Galaxy Note 9, but you’re not going to be able to see the difference with your naked eye.
The OLED display is bright and vibrant, with excellent contrast and color reproduction. Blacks are nice and deep, while whites are crisp and clean. Colors pop off the screen, but they’re not overly saturated. Viewing angles are wide, so you’ll be able to see the screen even when you’re not looking at it head-on.
The OLED display also supports Apple’s True Tone technology, which adjusts the white balance of the display to match the ambient lighting in your environment. This makes for a more natural and comfortable viewing experience, especially in low-light conditions.
Performance
The iPhone XS Max is powered by Apple’s new A12 Bionic chip, which is built on a 7nm process. It’s a64-bit hexa-core chip with four performance cores and four efficiency cores. The performance cores are up to 15% faster than the ones in the A11 Bionic chip, while the efficiency cores are up to 50% more efficient. The A12 Bionic chip also features an improved neural engine for better machine learning performance.
In real-world use, the iPhone XS Max is incredibly fast and responsive. Apps launch quickly and web pages load quickly. The camera is quick to launch and takes great photos quickly. Even intense 3D games like Fortnite run smoothly on the iPhone XS Max.
The iPhone XS Max also features improved battery life over its predecessor, thanks to its more efficient A12 Bionic chip and larger battery. Apple claims that the iPhone XS Max will last up to 1.5 hours longer than the iPhone XS. In our testing, we found that the iPhone XS Max lasted about 10 hours on a charge with moderate usage (which includes some gaming, web browsing, social media, and video streaming). That’s not quite as good as we wanted it to be, but it’s still better than what we got from the smaller iPhone XS (which only lasted about 9 hours on a charge). If you’re looking for even better battery life, you’ll want to check out one of the plus-sized phones from Samsung or Huawei.
Camera
The camera on the iPhone XS Max is identical to the one on the smaller iPhone XS. It has a 12MP sensor with large 1.4μm pixels and dual optical image stabilization. The lens has an f/1.8 aperture for better low-light performance, and there’s a quad-LED True Tone flash for brighter and more natural-looking photos in low light. On the front of the phone is a 7MP camera with an f/2.2 aperture for selfies and FaceTime HD video calls.
Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite 64GB
The best thing about this phone is the camera and display. The front camera takes amazing selfies even in low light and the rear cameras take awesome pictures as well. The display is bright and colorful. I also like that the phone doesn’t have a lot of bloatware and runs pure Android.
The battery life could be better. I can get about 4 hours of screen on time with moderate usage. I’ve also had some issues with the fingerprint sensor not working properly. Overall, I’m really happy with this phone and would recommend it to anyone looking for a great mid-range smartphone.
OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition
OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition
The OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition is the latest smartphone from OnePlus, and it’s a pretty impressive device. It’s got a large 6.41-inch OLED display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, and a fast 20MP rear camera. Plus, it comes with a special case that has the McLaren logo on it.
The phone itself is very solid and well-built. The screen is large and bright, and the colors are very accurate. The Snapdragon 845 processor is extremely fast, and the phone never feels slow or laggy. The 8GB of RAM is more than enough for even the most demanding apps and games, and the 256GB of storage is nice to have for storing all your music, movies, and photos.
The 20MP rear camera is very good, and takes great pictures in both low-light and bright-light conditions. The front-facing camera is also very good, and takes great selfies.
Overall, the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition is an excellent smartphone. It’s well-built, has a great display, a powerful processor, plenty of RAM and storage, and an excellent camera. If you’re looking for a high-end smartphone, the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition should definitely be on your radar.
Huawei Mate 20 Pro 256GB
The Huawei Mate 20 Pro is one of the best phones you can buy. It’s got a large, beautiful OLED display, an incredibly fast Kirin 980 processor, and three rear cameras that take amazing pictures.
It also has a few features that are unique to Huawei phones, like reverse wireless charging and an in-display fingerprint sensor. And it’s got great battery life, too.
The only downside is that it doesn’t have a headphone jack. But if you can live without that, the Mate 20 Pro is an outstanding phone.
Google Pixel 3 XL
The Google Pixel 3 XL is the best Android phone you can buy. It has an incredible camera that takes amazing photos and videos. The screen is huge and vibrant, and the overall design is top-notch. The only downside is that it’s quite expensive, but if you’re looking for the best Android phone on the market, the Pixel 3 XL is it.
Design:
The Pixel 3 XL has a gorgeous design with a glass back and aluminum frame. The front of the phone is almost all screen, with slim bezels around the sides and a small notch at the top for the front-facing camera. The back of the phone is where things get interesting, as there’s a dual-camera setup (more on that later) and a fingerprint sensor. Overall, the design is clean and sleek, and the Pixel 3 XL feels great in the hand.
Display:
The Pixel 3 XL has a massive 6.3-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2960 x 1440. The display is absolutely stunning, with incredibly vivid colors and deep blacks. It’s also bright enough to use outdoors, and the 18:9 aspect ratio makes it great for watching movies and TV shows.
Camera:
The camera is where the Pixel 3 XL really shines. The main 12.2-megapixel camera takes incredible photos, with great detail and dynamic range. Low-light performance is also excellent, thanks to Google’s Night Sight feature. The secondary camera is a wide-angle lens that lets you fit more into your photos and videos. Both cameras take amazing photos and videos, and you can’t go wrong with either one.
Performance:
The Pixel 3 XL is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor and 4GB of RAM. That’s more than enough power for even the most demanding apps and games, and you’ll never see any slowdown or lag. The battery life is also excellent, easily lasting through a full day of use.
Software:
The Pixel 3 XL runs Android 9 Pie, which is the latest version of Google’s mobile operating system. Pie includes a number of new features, including Adaptive Battery, which learns your usage patterns and optimizes battery life accordingly. There’s also Adaptive Brightness, which does the same thing for screen brightness. And finally, there’s App Actions, which predicts what you want to do next and provides shortcuts accordingly. Overall, Android 9 Pie is a great update that makes the already excellent Pixel 3 XL even better.
Price:
The Pixel 3 XL starts at $899 for the 64GB model, which is quite expensive. The 128GB model costs $999, and there’s no option for expandable storage. If you’re looking for the best Android phone on the market, though, the Pixel 3 XL is definitely worth the price tag.
Sony Xperia XZ3
The Sony Xperia XZ3 is the company’s latest flagship smartphone, and it’s a pretty great device. It’s got a large 6-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2880 x 1440, which looks absolutely stunning. The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 845 processor and has 4GB of RAM. It also has 64GB of internal storage, which can be expanded via microSD.
On the back of the phone, there’s a 19MP camera with f/2.0 aperture and electronic image stabilization. The front-facing camera is 13MP.
The phone runs Android 9 Pie and comes with all of Sony’s customizations and additions. It’s a great phone overall, but there are a few things that could be improved.
The first thing that I noticed when using the phone was that the screen is extremely reflective. It’s so reflective, in fact, that it’s difficult to use the phone outdoors on a sunny day. The second thing I noticed was that the camera isn’t quite as good as I was expecting it to be. The photos I took didn’t look as sharp as those taken with other flagship smartphones.
Other than those two minor complaints, I really like the Sony Xperia XZ3. It’s a great phone and I would highly recommend it to anyone in the market for a new smartphone.
LG V40 ThinQ
The LG V40 ThinQ is the latest flagship smartphone from the Korean manufacturer, and it’s a real stunner. The phone packs a huge 6.4-inch OLED display, which is absolutely gorgeous. It’s also packing some serious horsepower under the hood, with a Snapdragon 845 processor and 6GB of RAM. And if that’s not enough, the phone also features three cameras on the back, allowing you to capture some truly stunning photos and videos.
But as good as the LG V40 ThinQ is, it’s not perfect. The phone is a bit on the expensive side, and it doesn’t have wireless charging. And while the three cameras on the back are great, they can be a bit confusing to use at times.
Still, if you’re looking for a powerful and good-looking flagship smartphone, the LG V40 ThinQ is definitely worth considering.
Nokia 7.1
Nokia 7.1
The Nokia 7.1 is a great phone. I have had it for a few months now and it has been very reliable. The camera is fantastic, and the battery life is really good. I also love the fact that it has a headphone jack! The only downside is that the screen is a bit small, but overall I think this is a great phone.
4 out of 5 stars
I’ve had my Nokia 7.1 for about 3 months now and I’m very happy with it. It’s a great phone for the price with good build quality, a great camera, and decent battery life. The only downside is the screen size, which is a bit on the small side, but overall I think this is a great phone and would recommend it to anyone looking for a good budget option.
